I am sick. Unbelievably sick. I haven't been this sick in years. I swear, the last time I had anything that rivaled this I was in elementary school. Ed thinks it's the flu and I'm inclined to believe him. I'm about ready for it to pass and to have a day where I can breathe and a night where I don't drench the sheets from the fever sweats.
Obviously, my challenge plans have really been thrown off. In terms of running/walking my total for the week is something like 4.8 mi. Out of my expected 24.5, that is pretty sad. But I just can't do it. Walking from the apartment to the car makes my fever shoot up and I start sweating like a criminal in a police station. Today is day one of the Chopra Meditation Challenge and I can definitely handle that, thank god. The book is also slow going since it's really hard to write when you are unconscious. I'm still reading a lot.. I finished all the Shades of Grey books (so terrible I can't even begin - I loathe Christian Grey), and I'm currently reading this super creepy book called The Night Strangers by Chris Bohjalian. Very Stephen King-y so far. I can't even practice German because my voice is completely shot from all the coughing.
I really don't have anything else to say other than thank you a thousand times over to Ed who has been an angel this past weekend. He never made fun of all my complaining and went out ten times on his bike for all sorts of goodies to treat the flu. The goodies included: a caramel apple, tissues, my favorite cheese, dayquil & nyquil, expectorant, Jack Daniels, curry, ginger ale and two movies - Dark Shadows and Safety Not Guaranteed. Unfortunately for Ed I've rather lost my appetite completely so I could not fully appreciate some of his treats, but I'll be all over them as soon as this passes you believe me!
This weekend is our trip to visit Ck down in L.A. so everyone send happy, healing thoughts my way to get this horribleness to pass!
